To commemorate Mount Hope’s 175th anniversary, private donations are being solicited to assist with reforestation efforts. Unfortunately, time and weather conditions have impacted many aging trees and left them in need of replacement.

Subsequent tree plantings added to the original forest resulted in the stunning and diverse collection of magnificent tree specimens enjoyed today. At the cemetery’s inception in 1838, planners had the prudence to minimally disturb the existing forest. Mount Hope’s horticultural roots resonate throughout its history. To donate, please print and complete the Street Trees Donation form Those who contribute at least $250 may commemorate an event or honor a specific individual. You can help preserve this beauty for generations to come by making a donation to assist with the purchase of street trees. Practically every avenue and street in the city is lined with trees. Trees grace Rochester’s neighborhoods lending a park-like beauty to the city. These programs help to ensure that Rochester continues to be a, “City in a Forest.” Reforest Rochester’s Street Trees To ensure the continuation of this tradition, several Reforest Rochester programs have been established to accept donations for tree planting efforts. Over the decades, tree planting programs have helped preserve the city’s leafy canopy along tree-lined streets and in tree-filled parks and cemeteries. Rochester is deeply rooted in our horticultural history and our community’s passion for environmental preservation. Please help us plant roots that will grow to captivate future generations of citizens.
